Arts Corps, out of Seattle, WA, is actively making a difference in the lives of young people. They are a force for justice in a region where race is the greatest predictor of whether a young person has access to an arts education. Through participation in their arts integration and/or out-of-school arts and teen leadership programs, Arts Corps is setting the stage for young people not just to experience the transformative power of their own creativity, but to gain a deepened belief in their own capacity to learn, take risks, persist, and achieve. The importance of their work cannot be overstated.
Join their former Executive Director, thought leader, and TedX speaker James Miles (aka the Fresh Professor), along with Ricardo Khan as he advocates for arts education as a fundamental right for young audiences. Performances from ArtsCorps participants and teaching artists round out this energizing program.
Crossroads continues to lead the nation with its commitment to literary works that examine the African American experience so that it may be understood and appreciated by all people.
